Love Your Body: A few of my favorite things
Let's see, the quest for a proper night's sleep continues. Most nights I'm getting between 6 and 6-1/2 hours sleep, with one night of nearly 8 thrown in every week when I reach the point of complete exhaustion. It's not pretty. I was especially unhappy when I found myself unable to sleep and with a case of the "tossy-turnies" the night before BFF Tracy and I went to the Happiest Place on Earth - you need to be awake and cheerful to spend a day at Disneyland over the holidays. Last night was one of the totally exhausted nights, so I went to bed at 9:30 and then lazed away in the morning until 8:30. (I woke up at 6:30 and watched CNN while playing with the kitties for two blissful hours.) It's amazing how much happier I feel when I get enough sleep.
I'm getting my vitamins in faithfully with only two days missed since I started focusing in this area, and I think it's on Auto-Pilot, so let's add something else to the mix. For my next act of love for my body, I'm going to commit to one yoga class - either at the Y or at home with a DVD - per week. I know that doesn't sound like much, but I don't want to overcommit and underdeliver, so this is what I think I can manage. (We shall see.)
So, for my list of favorite things, seen by me recently:
* A clean house! (Thanks to the new storage space acquired and furnished lavishly by me and the Maid Brigade.)
* My new haircut - extra short in the back, tapered to the front with lots of choppy layers!
* Three of my four kitties all napping on my bed simultaneously. Normally Dave and Abby get along OK and Harry and Sally are affectionate with one another but, other than that, there is a detente between the two groups, occasionally broken for a cat fight but never stirred. I wish I'd had a camera so that their daddy could have seen it, too...
