SOS Challenge
Monday night. Today is the start of eDiet's Summer of Success (SOS) Challenge and I have just joined. Basically, you have to eat according to whatever plan you're using, exercise a certain amount of days and time according to your fitness level, drink at least 64 ounces of water, check in with your teammates, and perform weekly challenges that are designed to address current bad habits and/or build healthy new ones. Back in 2000, I lost 100 pounds with eDiets by participating in their various challenges and I was really happy with the methodology, so why not give it a new shot?
I've printed my weekly menu and shopping list, so I'm basically ready to go. Why do I feel this sort of "scared" feeling? This is nothing radical, nothing I haven't done many times before...this is not unknown territory for me. Perhaps it's because it feels as though I'm running out of time. I'll be 40 in October (yikes!!!) and losing weight will not always be as easy biologically as it always has been. My husband's gone, so no worrying about having to eat with him. I have lots of supportive friends. I have a treadmill at home as well as Yourself!Fitness, so exercise needn't be a problem. I nearly always drink at least 64 ounces of water a day, if not more. Let's at least give it a shot.

I agree about the getting older thing. I wouldn't discourage anyone from embarking on a fitness plan no matter what their age, because you can have amazing results whether young or old, but there is no doubt that the metabolism becomes stupider and more stubborn every year...
