To have and to hold...in sickness and in health
Monday morning. I'll be writing about the "in sickness" part more extensively in a separate post (seven days of food poisoning...not eating food...losing 15 pounds the hard way) but wanted to tell you all that TCF (formerly TCB) became just plain old Mick, my husband, at about 11:45 a.m. (Pacific) on Friday, April 13th. The wedding was simple and wonderful. I was so overcome with emotion that I started to cry uncontrollably when the Justice of the Peace started talking about how marriage is not something to be entered into lightly and then I looked out at my very dearest friends and relatives (about 20 in all) and they were all crying, too. God works in mysterious ways, my dears, His wonders to perform, and I have never been so convinced of that as I was at that moment. I looked up at my handsome fiance in his dress blue uniform and smelled the lovely fragrance of the flowers in my bouquet, and suddenly the tears dried and I stepped forward happily into our future together.
There will be pictures at some point soon (my dear friend and co-CASA, Genevieve, took about 400), but know this for now...I'm married and happy and felt each and every one of you there with me on that warm, sunny day here in San Diego. Bless you for your kind emails and good thoughts and I'll be back soon with more wedding stuff and - oh yes! - the rest of my life.
