Porcupine at zoo

Thursday afternoon. A project team that I worked with over the summer had their offsite today at the San Diego Zoo. Sadly, they chose the first week in January for this trip and that's smack in the middle of the busiest six weeks of the year for me (and for most folks in my area of the company). I was able to go for lunch, though, and they had zookeepers bring us out five animals to look at up close: a parrot, an alligator, an armadillo, an owl, and a porcupined named Priscilla. I loved Priscilla because she reminds me a little of me - she's overweight, prickly, and loves to eat treats. I wish I'd been able to go on the "behind the scenes" tour with the rest of the group but at least I had a memorable lunch!
